Definitely worth the price.

I am a little surprised and to me this looks like a major bug. It seems not to be possible to fix international phone numbers in one go. it should look like this + country-code space area-code space phone-number o.k. you can adjust that maually. But with more than 2,000 addresses and sometimes up to 5 numbers per address this seems to be a major issue.

International phone numbers dont work automatic corrections are often wrong would be nice to be able to edit the enries if the automatic change does not work correctly (which it doesnt do most of the time ;)

This app does not seem to realise that there are other countries on this planet outside of the USA. Even for US numbers it tries to remove the +1 international code for people who travel outside the US. It also tries to remove spaces in first names (as if NO ONE on Earth has two first names) and its sees anyone with only a first name as a company. Basically the app devs here have taken the easiest and shortest route to provide an app without taking anything into account that could possibly affect the way a number is stored in the address book of a normal person. litterally EVERY entry in my address book had an "error" according to this app and the solution was 100% wrong in all cases. This app is not worth downloading..

App is fast. I have about 4,000 addresses and waiting time is almost nil. However, the program picks up as duplicates addresses where the email field repeats the full name (I have that a lot from a previous import). The unusual prefixes and the same with suffixes works terribly, it just pushes the funny prefix to become the fist name and the suffixes work the other way around. As a result the name is even more funny because now the names are also distorted. Another funny thing happens with the phone number format. App finds the not so nicely formatted numbers but fails to reformat them correctly. If a phone number has 4 digits as area code instead of only three there is no reformatting. You have to do it by hand again. In the present format the program is only little helpful for me. But then again, it is also not really expensive. So, I guess, for my part I would ask the engineers back to work! Cheers.

Do you wnat to lose your contacts ? Then donwload this app and do a normal clean. BOOOOOM and some of your most vital contacts are GONE…….

I used this app on an adressbook with about 3000 contacts and did not agree on a single suggestions for fixes. The bad phone numbers “feature" almost made me change all numbers of chinese contacts by deleting the 1 in the beginning of the number (unfortunatly all cell phones start with a 1). I feel like I wasted money.

It would be nice if you could skip over "problems" that arent so. Also, for the program to recognize businesses not as dusplicates. Maybe add another window so you can see what you contact info will look like after it is merged.

This App is exactly what I have been looking for. It does what it says and does it well. I had cleaned up my address book several days ago and thought I had everything. It found 185 errors on first scan and they were exactly as the program said. Very effective and a huge time saver. Using Mobile me I sync two computers, two laptops and iphones for my wife and I. The information must be correct or its a mess, this solves the problem. I also picked up Calendar cleaner and its also very good, highly recommend it as well!

Ever enter "John & Jane Doe" as a contact? This program objects. Want to leave all such entries alone? This program will not permit it. Programmatic fixes of other problems do more harm than good.

This messed up my contacts in such a matter, my contacts will now not sync with mobile me and my iphone. What a waste of time, waste of money and what a hassle trying to fix the damage it has done, very disappointing. The purchase cost is a minimal loss compared to the loss of time of trying to undo the damage and the fact that I now do not have an updated addressbook on my iphone! I cannot believe the App store does not test these apps better to prevent such collossal problems as to compatibility.

On first run, I reviewed the kinds of changes this program would make and was appalled at the poor decisions it seems to make. Although I have address book preferences set to a phone format in the form of +1-###-###-####, Contacts cleaner want to strip out the +1 making my contact list useless when travelling overseas or for use with some international VOIP services. My reason for buying was to find an strip out block formatted addresses, those with the Street City, Prov, Postal Code in one field. Im not sure where these came from but the preferred format is to have each itam in its own field with no commas. Commas are murder if you need to export of a comma delimited text file to use contacts in a database. Contacts clearner seems to want to strip out the properly formatted address as the duplicate and keep the improperly formatted address with the troublesome commas. Please be careful not to just let this moronic program do its thing.

before i had this app my list was a mess now its sparkling clean. I wish i dint pay so much. its very easy to use. pretty awesome i give 5 well deserved stars

Switching to iCloud doubled my Contacts, cleaning them out manually would have been horrendous. Thanks to Contacts Cleaner it only took me about 10 minutes. Thanks for this great app!

I like it so far but it needs the option to have phone numbers with both 1 (999) 555-1212 and (999) 555-1212. It wants to change where I have numbers as long distance.

A very useful app to keep your contacts list in check. Most useful if you have lots of contacts to manage, such as your business contacts, social contacts, school contacts, etc. Highly recommended. Also great for those with OCD like me! haha!

This app thought “Merge contacts” was delete all entries for contact.” Proabbly the quickest way to completely foul up your contact list.

Useful in that a variety of Contact database entry properties are scanned and confirmed as not corresponding to some unspecific standard. This provides at least the opportunity to consider changing one’s entries, and addressing some uniformity issues. A significant problem is that some “fix all” changes do not happen (e.g., removing blanks from notes) but recur upon every launch. Another highly significant problem is the assessment to “fix” phone number formats. Is there anyone on this planet that really believes every phone number follows some unwritten American standard? That id simply ludicrous and highly provincial. Country codes are important, and the standard for formatting the world’s telephone numbers are certainly NOT those of any American software company. That is a serious mistake, and makes the overall tool lack credibility.

The functionality is great. However it is CRASHTASTIC. I have a 4,000+ contact list.
