It’s quite reliable and really keep my contact list quite tidy.

You wont believe how many duplicates and mistakes of all kinds are inside your Contacts until you use Contacts Cleaner. Apple should incorporate this into their Contacts application, but its way too smart for them… ;-)

For cleaning up duplicate contacts, inconsistent phone formats, missing last names, etc. you cannot beat Contacts Cleaner. It can get confused about international phone number formats, and sometimes there are clean-ups remaining that you hoped could be automated, but it has saved hours of time.

I’ve tried a number of these. This is the only one that is easy to use and doesn’t screw up your contact list.

I chose the Merge option and it wiped out nearly all of my contacts. I was able to recover the contacts that were on my Mac, but many contacts that were only on iCloud are gone. I went to the web site for support, but couldn’t find much. I want my money back, but not as much as I want my contacts back.

I was frustrated that Mavericks Contacts “Look For Duplicates” wasn’t linking all my iCloud and Google Mail contacts. Maybe it’s not supposed to do that, but it sure would be nice. So I bought “Contacts Cleaner" thinking it would solve the problem. For about 30 minutes, I thought it had solved my problem since it removed about 500 “redundant” contacts. But then I realized that instead of merging/linking my iCloud and Google mail contacts, it deleted my Google Mail contacts. This is SO frustrating. Of course I made a backup, but it will probably take me several more hours to restore everything the way it’s supposed to be. Apple and Google, please work together to fix this problem that has existed ever since address books were invented.

I purchased the application thinking that it would be a simple way to edit all of the duplicate contacts that synced onto my new iphone. I read the directions and even used the "help" option to determine how to work the app. It does not work then it asks if you want to allow the application access to your personal/billing info. I clicked deny obviously. It ripped me off though and this is pathetic..

Worked flawlessly! In 10 minutes Contacts Cleaner delivered what other apps promised and failed to do.

Contacts Cleaner finds dupes and gives you options to delete or merge duplicates, however you cannot see the duplicates side by side to choose WHICH of them you want to keep. You cannot select what fields you want to merge and how. You cannot choose to bypass certain contacts so that the next time you open Contact Cleaner again, you have to pass those contacts again before getting to duplicates further down the list. If this program were a little more robust (even as robust as Contacts ITSELF is when importing VCARD archives that have duplicates), it would be worthy of 5 stars.

Contacts and Calendars have always been Apples joke on us. They were never reliable to begin with. With the advent of MobileMe or iCloud or whatever next they’ll come up with, a bad thing is becaming a nightmare. So I decided to give it a try and bought Contacts Cleaner. I backed up my contacts, terminated iCloud completely and everywhere (iMac, MBP, both iPads, iPhone) and ran Contacts Cleaner. The thing deleted about a thousand duplicates, lost several good contacts and left some others a bleeding mess. But what a relief it was when I saw my Contacts about two thousand leaner. Conclusion: The app is good when you’re looking for someone to do the dirty work for cheap. But don’t count on it for the finer points. These you have to do yourself or look elsewhere. And be prepared to eat some casualties.

I wish I would have found this years ago!! It was nice to clean up and merge all my accounts into one address book for Google Apps, LinkedIn, and Facebook… just learned to try and manage a single g-apps account for managing contacts instead of two… it works if you have more than one but you may still need to clean them up every few months… I’m done with that fight and this app helped with that a lot!

I was a doubter of the 1 Star Reviews…..bought it today 8NOV14…..installed and used…..it completely ruined my contacts…..this program simply is not ready for prime time…..i am uterly in shock at the 5 Star Reviews….must be the developer and all his/her friends??? Go forth if you want to ruin your contacts…..if you do, please take the time to leave a negative review if it doesn’t work for you so that we can warn others.

I use this regularly to keep every organized on all devices. I run it on my computer, then sync it to all my devices. Has most all problems covered very well. Only one wish is that there is a way to cover special dialing codes and not treat them as errors. For example, a p in dialing string is a 2 second pause. Ern

unusable because it does not give details of all the contacts - I have duplicate contacts due to sync issues in my iCloud address book and some of those are also in my gmail addrss book . The app does not tell how many duplicate contacts and does not let you chose one of those as master which will have informaiton from all the other duplicated contacts so I don’t know if the merged contact will be in iccloud address book or in gmail address book.

It works as advertised, clean and simple.

Bought it. Doesnt even open. Quits unexpectedly

When I spend money on these little apps they inevitably crash when I try to open them. Please refund my money.

Not sure why there are the one star reviews because Contacts Cleaner works for me. Would like it to list contacts that are missing a phone number, email address and postal address. But, over all, I am happy with the purchase.
